The most crucial part of any web site's design is the means of navigation. Whether
it is through a set of text or image links or a drop down menu, navigation
should be second nature to any site visitor. For this project two
basic page layouts where drawn up and adopted for displaying different types
of content: top navigation and left-hand-side navigation designs - both accepted
methods of displaying navigation links. A common page header is also
required to clearly identify ownership of each page in the site; in this case
a simple stylistic graphic was chosen, as shown in Figure 1 below.

Lastly a common set of formatting guidelines were created to ensure consistency throughout the content of the site, and then the design was complete.

The content itself is typical of many personal web sites - information about the owner and their skills and interests, a few photographs and writings and contact information. This web site also provides a means to store links to favourite and useful web sites and a place to show off articles written by the owner. In total more than forty pages were authored.
